it usually is in everyday use, with as many of the studios and lectures as
possible operating in their normal way. |

Course Work
Exhibition |
| 2.1
|
To display a
complete range of studio work with programmes attached to each subject in all
years of the course to be arranged chronologically so as to show the development
of the curriculum throughout the entire course. Drawings should be hung
separately and consecutively with the exception of large sets of drawings, which
are best overlapped. The line of demarcation between the work of each year
should be clear. Examples of written thesis and dissertations should also be
made available. As far as is practicable the sequence of work shown should
follow the sequence of the course. |
| 2.2
|
In selecting
the work for the exhibition, the School is asked to display a cross-section of
the students' works rather than just the works of the best
students. |
| 2.3
|
The School is
asked to arrange for a member of the staff to explain briefly the work of each
year. The Panel is interested in the philosophy or main objectives of each year
and their relation with the preceding and following year. |

Standards |
| 3.1
|
Portfolio of
two average students and of two students who achieved the lowest pass should be
made available for each year of the course. If the School wishes to show the
portfolio of the best student in the year this can be added. The basis of the
selection - average, lowest or highest - is made clear on the portfolio. The
preparatory material as well as the final drawings should also be included in
the portfolios so as to reveal the students' approach to
projects. |
| 3.2
|
The portfolios
should include work which the student has done in preceding years so as to build
up a total picture of his progress. For example the portfolio of a Third Year
student should contain his First and Second Year work. |
| 3.3
|
Dissertations
and other mainly written work such as reports or essays which are on the pass
margin and of average quality should also be made available, clearly labelled as
such. |

Examinations To provide information on the following
: |
| 4.1
|
The system of
examinations used in the School including information on the subjects examined,
duration of examinations, feedback to students and staff. |
| 4.2
|
The School's
method of assessing design work and the level of performance which students are
expected to maintain. |
| 4.3
|
Copies of all
current examination question papers together with student scripts and mark
sheets. The examination papers should be grouped in sets of related subjects and
clearly marked in years. Papers on the border of pass and fail should be flagged
so as to enable members of the Panel to check the pass/fail standard quickly.
The usual mark sheets should be attached to each set of papers. |

Meeting With
Staff And Students |
| 5.1 |
The Panel
would like to have the opportunity to meet the fulltime staff of the School and
as many of the part-time staff as is practicable both informally in the studios
and at a roundtable meeting. |
| 5.2 |
The Panel
would also like to meet students in the studios and a representative group of
students from each year. |
